"Promoting the importance and the value of play"

Toy Libraries Victoria is a non-profit incorporated association. It is the umbrella organisation for approximately 150 toy libraries in Victoria. Toy Libraries operating outside Victoria may also join.

Mission Statement: Toy Libraries Victoria promotes the importance and the value of play. It aims to raise the profile of Toy Libraries in the community by publicising the role of Toy Libraries in supporting families.

It aims to encourage, inform and respond to the needs of prospective and existing Toy Libraries, using accumulating knowledge and depth of experience. Networking of Toy Libraries is a key priority.

Membership fees fund the work of the association which is managed by a Committee who offer their services on a voluntary basis. The Committee meets monthly and consists of employees and volunteers from a variety of toy libraries. Metropolitan toy libraries with a membership of 80 or more families are required to provide a committee member every three years. This ensures they do not operate in isolation and provides an opportunity for networking. It also helps to ensure the viability of Toy Libraries Victoria.
