DAIS - Disability Access, Inclusion, and Support Program

During our 2025 National Training Weekend, Debbie Williams, CEO of Toy Libraries Australia, presented the latest evidence on the social, educational, environmental and economic impact of Australia’s 390 toy libraries, which support over 80,000 children and more than 10,500 volunteers . Drawing on national research, the presentation explored why families join, the barriers they face, and the proven benefits of play-based learning, community connection, reduced waste and lower cost of living. Debbie also highlighted new insights from university studies and market research, showing how toy libraries contribute to every dimension of Australia’s Measuring What Matters wellbeing framework. The session concluded with key challenges and practical recommendations to strengthen accessibility, inclusion, sustainability, and long-term community impact.

Information within this presentation can be used for your toy libraries own purposes to advocate for their needs.
