DAIS - Disability Access, Inclusion, and Support Program

Quality Standards

The Toy Library Quality Standards provide a practical framework to help toy libraries strengthen their governance, operations, and impact. They outline what good practice looks like across seven key areas - from strategy and team culture to safety, toy management, financial systems, and community engagement.

The standards not only help you review how your toy library is operating, but also act as a roadmap to the many tools available through Toy Libraries Australia. As you work through each section, the benchmarks point you to relevant policies, templates, guides, and training within the Resource Library and Learning Centre, making it easier to know what documents you need and where to find support.

Toy Libraries Australia acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia and recognise their continuing connection to lands, waters and communities. We pay our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders past and present, and to the children who are the leaders of tomorrow.
